- Custom output filename: Set the downloaded file name (e.g. Report.xlsx) before merging.
- Merged preview: See the list of sheet names that will be in the output, and use Preview merged to view the full workbook as tables before downloading.
- Reorder and add more: Reorder the file list with up/down buttons; use Add more files to include additional workbooks without starting over.
- Client-side and private: Merging happens in your browser; files are never uploaded.
Why Merge Excel Files?
Merging combines multiple workbooks into one for easier sharing, reporting, or archiving.
- Single workbook: One file to share or archive instead of many.
- Organized sheets: Each source file is a named sheet; reorder as needed.
How Merge Excel Works
Set your merge options and add two or more Excel files. The tool reads each file in your browser and builds one workbook. Preview the result if you like, then download the single XLSX.
- Set options: Choose first sheet only or all sheets per file, and enter the output filename.
- Upload and reorder: Drag-and-drop or select files; use Add more files to add more. Reorder with the up/down buttons to set sheet order.
- Preview (optional): Click Preview merged to see the merged workbook as tables; switch sheets with the dropdown.
- Merge and download: Click Merge and download to get the single XLSX. All processing is client-side.
Powered by client-side spreadsheet processing (SheetJS).
Frequently Asked Questions
How are sheets named?
In first-sheet mode each file becomes one sheet (name from the file name, sanitized). In all-sheets mode each sheet is named FileName_SheetName (e.g. Report_Data). Duplicate names get a suffix (_2, _3). You can rename sheets after opening in Excel.
Can I preview before downloading?
Yes. Use Preview merged to see the merged workbook as tables in the browser. Switch between sheets with the dropdown. Then use Merge and download when ready.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Merging runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Can I merge more than two files?
Yes. Add as many Excel files as you need. Use Add more files to add more after the first batch. Reorder with the up/down buttons. Each file contributes one sheet (first-sheet mode) or all its sheets (all-sheets mode).
