Available Options

• Blur background: The padding shows a blurred version of the same video frame. Very popular for Reels and Stories—looks natural and professional. You can adjust blur strength.
• Solid color: Fill the letterbox area with any color using a color picker. Default black, or choose a brand or style color.
• Image background: Upload an image to use as the padding. The image is scaled to cover the letterbox area behind the video.
• Mirror edges: The padding shows mirrored edges of the video (top, bottom, left, right). No extra assets needed; the frame is extended by reflection.
• Black: Classic letterbox look with black bars. Simple and neutral.

Available Ratios

• 16:9 (Landscape): Widescreen. Ideal for YouTube, TV, and most desktop viewing. Output at 1920×1080.
• 9:16 (Portrait / Reels): Vertical. Best for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Stories. Output at 1080×1920.
• 1:1 (Square): Square frame. Good for Instagram feed and some social posts. Output at 1080×1080.
• 4:3 (Standard): Traditional TV ratio. Output at 1440×1080.
• 3:4 (Portrait): Vertical standard. Output at 1080×1440.

The tool letterboxes your video: it scales the image to fit inside the target aspect ratio and adds black bars so the output has the exact ratio without cropping.

Processing Steps

• Upload & decode: Your video is loaded in the browser and decoded frame by frame. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, and more.
• Scale to fit: Each frame is scaled to fit inside the target aspect ratio (e.g. 1920×1080 for 16:9). The scale preserves the original aspect ratio so the image is not stretched.
