This free online audio equalizer is a 10-band EQ that works in your browser. No upload and no signup: add MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, or AAC files, adjust presets or bands, use advanced high-pass and low-pass filters, and download in your chosen format.

Why Use an Equalizer?

An equalizer lets you shape the tone of audio by boosting or cutting specific frequency bands. Whether you want more bass, clearer vocals, or a brighter treble, a 10-band EQ gives you precise control. This tool runs in the browser with waveform preview, eight presets, advanced filters, and full output options—no upload required.

Uses for EQ

  • Music: Bass boost, treble clarity, or genre presets (rock, jazz, classical)
  • Voice & podcasts: Vocal preset or custom mids for clarity
  • Content & video: Match tone across clips or fix dull recordings
  • Playback: Compensate for weak speakers or headphones

How the Equalizer Works

The tool uses a 10-band parametric-style EQ at 31 Hz, 62 Hz, 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 4 kHz, 8 kHz, and 16 kHz. Each band can be boosted or cut by up to ±12 dB. Eight presets (Flat, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, Vocal, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical) apply a fixed curve; you can start from a preset and then adjust sliders. Optional advanced filters run in order: high-pass, low-pass, bass shelf, treble shelf, then the 10 bands, then output gain. Processing runs in your browser with your chosen output format (same as input, MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A), bitrate, and sample rate (44.1, 48, or 96 kHz).

What this tool offers

  • Waveform view for original and equalized audio
  • Play from cursor and native audio controls
  • 10-band EQ with presets: Flat, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, Vocal, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical
  • Advanced: High-pass (low cut) 20–120 Hz, low-pass (high cut) 4–20 kHz, bass shelf, treble shelf (±12 dB), band width (0.5 / 1 / 2 oct), output gain (±12 to +6 dB)
  • Output format: same as input, MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A; bitrate and sample rate
  • Preserve metadata; duration and estimated size per file; batch process and download all as ZIP

Tips and best practices

  • Start with a preset: Try Bass Boost, Vocal, or Rock, then fine-tune with sliders.
  • Avoid extreme cuts/boosts: Large ±12 dB changes can sound harsh; small adjustments often work better.
  • Same format: Use “Same as input” to avoid re-encoding when you don’t need a different format.
  • Metadata: Turn on “Preserve metadata” to keep track title, artist, and artwork in the equalized file.
  • Advanced: Use high-pass (e.g. 80 Hz) to remove rumble; low-pass (e.g. 12 kHz) to tame hiss. A small negative output gain (e.g. -2 dB) helps avoid clipping after strong boosts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an audio equalizer?

An equalizer lets you adjust different frequency bands (bass, mids, treble) to change how audio sounds. Our 10-band EQ covers 31 Hz to 16 kHz so you can boost or cut specific ranges.

Is the audio equalizer free?

Yes. The 10-band audio equalizer is free to use. No signup or upload is required; processing runs in your browser. You can process multiple files and download results in your chosen format (MP3, WAV, FLAC, and others).

What do the presets do?

Presets apply a fixed curve: Flat (no change), Bass Boost (low end), Treble Boost (high end), Vocal (mids), and genre presets Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Classical. You can start from a preset and then tweak the 10 band sliders.

What audio formats does the equalizer support?

Input formats include MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, and AAC. You can keep the same format as the input or convert the output to MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, or M4A, with optional bitrate and sample rate (44.1, 48, or 96 kHz).

Is my audio secure?

Yes. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your audio files are never uploaded to any server. No data is stored or transmitted.

Can I choose the output format?

Yes. You can keep the same format as the input or convert to MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, or M4A. You can also set bitrate, sample rate, and preserve metadata.

Can I equalize multiple files?

Yes. Add multiple files, then use Apply EQ all to process them in one go. You can download all equalized files as a single ZIP.

Does EQ affect quality?

EQ only changes frequency balance; quality depends on your output format and bitrate. Use a higher bitrate or lossless (WAV/FLAC) if you want to preserve maximum quality.

What are the advanced high-pass and low-pass for?

High-pass (low cut) removes rumble and DC below the set frequency (e.g. 80 Hz). Low-pass (high cut) reduces hiss and limits the top end (e.g. 12 kHz). Both are applied before the 10-band EQ.

What is band width and output gain?

Band width sets how wide each of the 10 bands is in octaves (0.5 = narrow/surgical, 2 = wide). Output gain is a final gain stage in dB; use a small negative value to avoid clipping after heavy boosts.
