Silence Remover, Every Setting: Threshold, Minimum Gap and Keep (Free)
Every setting of the free Silence Remover, on a real voice memo: why the default −50 dB threshold finds no pauses and the measured −40 dB finds nine, how minimum silence (1 s → 5 cuts, 2 s → 1) and Keep (0 s → 0:19, 0.5 s → 0:23) change the result, what Everywhere, Between speech and Start and end cut — then three jobs: a tight memo (0:30 → 0:20), a podcast that keeps its pacing (0:30 → 0:23) and dead air at both ends (0:37 → 0:30). The Silence Remover, every setting, on a real 30-second voice memo with nine pauses. At the default threshold of −50 dB it finds none of them, because a real room is never truly silent; the tool measures the recording and suggests −40 dB, and all nine appear on the cut map. Minimum silence sets how long a pause must last — one second leaves five, two seconds leaves one. Keep leaves part of every pause in: at zero the speech runs together, at half a second it breathes. Where decides which pauses count — everywhere, only between speech, or only at the start and end. Smooth joins fades each cut so no click is heard. Three jobs follow: a tight voice memo (30 seconds to 20), a podcast that keeps its pacing (30 to 23) and a recording with dead air at both ends (37 to 30). Everything runs in your browser; no recording is uploaded.

This voice memo has nine long pauses in it. At the default setting, the silence remover finds none of them.
The silence remover, every setting: the threshold, the minimum silence, how much of each pause to keep, and where to cut. Free, and nothing is uploaded.
Four settings decide every cut: how quiet counts as silence, how long it has to last, how much of it to leave in, and where in the file to look. The cut map above shows each one before you commit.
−50 dB → 0 silences · −40 dB → 9
Use the suggestion. Only go higher if the room is noisy, and lower if quiet words start getting caught.
1 s → 5 silences · 2 s → 1
Keep 0 s → 0:19 · 0.5 s → 0:23
Between speech: 8 silences
Smooth joins fades each cut over a few milliseconds, so there is no click where two words meet. Leave it on.
