A silence remover looks for stretches quieter than a threshold you set and takes them out. The part nobody explains is the threshold: a recording made in a real room is never silent — there is always a floor of computer fan, traffic and air — so a threshold set below that floor finds nothing at all. This tool measures your recording and tells you the number to use, draws every region it will cut on top of the waveform before you commit, and tapers the joins so the edits do not click. Image Tool Hub runs it inside your browser on your own processor, so the recording is never uploaded. Free with no account: one file at a time, up to 50 MB and 30 minutes, exported at up to 44.1 kHz and 192 kbps. Pro adds batch processing and 48 kHz, 320 kbps, 24-bit exports.

Every word spoken in the video, so you can read it, search it or skim it.

This is a voice memo, and about a third of it is someone thinking. Every pause is still in the file.

0:30 → 0:20

This is the silence remover on Image Tool Hub. It is free, it needs no account, and the recording never leaves your browser.

Drop a recording in and it draws the whole waveform, with every region it is going to cut shaded on top of it. You can see the edit before you make it.

0 silences at −50 dB

A recording made in an actual room is never silent. There is always a floor: the computer, the traffic outside, the air. The default threshold sits below that floor, so none of the gaps count as quiet.

Use −40 dB, measured from this recording

9 silences · 0:10 removed

One press.

0:30 → 0:20 · 721 KB → 482 KB

If it is cutting too much, the shortest gap it will touch and the breathing room it leaves at each end are both yours to set.

And here is the browser’s own record of everything it fetched while that audio was being rebuilt. Not one request carried the recording anywhere.

Download, and the tighter version is on your machine.

It is one of more than two hundred tools here, and every one of them works the same way.

That is the silence remover, free, in a browser tab. Try it on your own recording — and I will see you in the next video.
