The converters are small tools that turn one thing into another, and this tour runs them as a chain. A photo of a Lisbon street gives a six-colour palette with each colour’s share of the picture. One of those colours goes into the colour converter, which shows it in every format and checks whether text in it can be read on white (10.09:1, every check passes) or on black (2.08:1, every check fails). A QR code for a link in a styled preset is checked for contrast (8.8:1) and then read straight back by the QR reader. A barcode shows the size it will print at, a file gets eight hashes from MD5 to SHA-3 at once, and the time-zone page answers what time it is somewhere else — and when its clocks change. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

One photo of a Lisbon street, and six colours pulled out of it. Every one of those can go straight into the next tool. That is what the converters are: small tools that turn one thing into another.

The converters, one after another, each one feeding the next. Free, and nothing is uploaded.

6 colours · 32.4% #E9D7C2

#264A1F · about 10:1 on white

Sunset · contrast 8.8:1

And read it straight back. Drop the picture into the QR reader, scan — the same link.

Code 128 · 44.0 × 21.8 mm

A fingerprint for a whole file: eight hash algorithms at once, from MD5 to SHA-3. Change one byte of the file, and every one of them changes.

And the most-visited page on the whole site: what time is it there. New York is four hours behind U T C — and the page already knows the clocks go back on the first of November.

None of it left the browser. This is its own record of everything it fetched while all of that ran — not one request carried the photo or the file.

There are more converters: base sixty-four, URL encoding, UUIDs, dates and ages — and more than two hundred tools beyond them.

Free, no account, nothing uploaded. Turn one thing into another — and I will see you in the next video.
